On the 9th and 10th of January 2020, the annual VITAL project meeting was held at Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnamese and international members of project team gathered to present the progress of their work packages on the first day, making plans for further work with help from collaborators and advisors on the following day. The project team was honored to welcome to Vietnam for the first time, project advisor, Professor Hugh Montgomery from University College London as well as Wellcome Trust advisors, Professor Liam Marnane and Dr. Heather Duncan. All project team members agreed in the meeting to adopt VITAL as the official name of this project: Vietnam ICU Translational Applications Lab.
