Following the success of the 2019 meeting, Imperial College London hosted a follow-up meeting at the Wolfson Education Centre, Hammersmith Campus on July 30th 2021, bringing together teams from University of Oxford, Imperial College London and King’s College London. We were able to welcome new members of the team, Dr Miguel Xochicale of the King’s team, Dr Ping Lu, Dr Shadi Ghiasi, and Dr Janis Hagenah of Oxford team and a great opportunity to get meet many of the VITAL team.
The whole VITAL project team have managed well, working flexibly with Covid 19-related restrictions to keep the project progressing. Hence, this meeting was also an important event allowing gathered many of the principle investigators (PIs) to discuss technical aspects of device or clinical decision support system (CDSS) design, algorithm development and data analysis, and to work towards establishing a pathway for certification and approval of new devices and CDSS.
