This is the first time VITAL project has the annual meeting in person when all travel restrictions related to COVID-19 have been lifted. The meeting was co-organized by Oxford University Clinical Research Unit and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering on September 6th and 7th 2022 at Randolph hotel in Center of Oxford, UK. The event gathered all project team members including doctors, engineers and scientists across sites. The project team was honored to receive the welcome speech from Prof. Richard Cornall, Head of the Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, and welcome to UK for the first time, Dr Phạm Ngọc Thạch, the Director of National Hospital for Tropical Diseases. The progress of work packages and research outputs of the VITAL project were presented on the first day and the panel discussion on the following day. There were a lot of discussion on how to develop the wearable devices, the artificial intelligent-based clinical decision support system further and how to design the clinical trial for these novel technological solutions. The meeting was extremely successful and a great opportunity for project team members to share their expertise, research ideas and strengthen the collaboration between research institutes.
